Getting Started
How do I pick a song for today?
Open the Journal tab and tap the "Pick Today's Song" button. Search for any song via Apple Music or Spotify, optionally add a mood emoji and a note, then save.
Do I need to create an account?
No. You can use the journal, calendar, stats, and playlist features without signing in. An account (Sign in with Apple) is only needed for social features like following friends and seeing their picks.
Can I change my pick for today?
Yes. If you pick a different song on the same day, it replaces your earlier pick. Only one song per day is saved.
Social Features
How do I follow someone?
Go to the Feed tab, tap the search icon, and search by name or handle. You can also scan a QR code from someone's profile or open a shared profile link. Tap "Follow" on their profile.
What is a private account?
If your account is private, people must send a follow request that you approve before they can see your picks. You can enable this in Profile → Account → Private Account.
How do I accept or decline a follow request?
You'll receive a push notification when someone requests to follow you. You can accept or decline from the Follow Requests section in your profile, or directly from the requester's profile page.
Can others see my notes?
No. Notes you add to entries are stored only on your device and are never shared, uploaded, or visible to anyone else.
How do I block or report a user?
Open their profile, tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner, and select Block or Report. Blocked users cannot see your content or follow you.
Playlists
How do I create a playlist from my picks?
Open the Journal tab and tap the playlist icon in the toolbar. You can create playlists based on the last 7 days, the current month, or by mood. The playlist is added directly to your Apple Music library.
Do I need Apple Music to create playlists?
Yes. Playlist creation currently requires an active Apple Music subscription, as the playlists are created in your Apple Music library. Spotify playlist creation is coming in a future update.
How many playlists can I create?
Free users can create 1 playlist per month. Songstamp Pro subscribers can create unlimited playlists.
Subscription & Data
What does Songstamp Pro include?
Unlimited journal history, full stats and insights, feed history (past days' picks from friends), unlimited playlist creation, home screen widgets, weekly recaps, and data export (JSON, CSV, PDF).
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open your device Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → Songstamp Pro → Cancel. You'll retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Open the paywall (Profile → Upgrade to Pro) and tap "Restore Purchases" at the bottom. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID you originally purchased with.
How do I export my data?
Go to Profile → Export Data. You can export as JSON, CSV, or generate a PDF recap. This is a Pro feature.
How do I delete my account?
Go to Profile → Account → Delete Account. This permanently removes your profile, all published picks, and social connections from our servers. Local journal entries remain on your device.
What happens if I reinstall the app?
If you were signed in, signing in again will restore your picks, profile, followers, and following from the cloud. Local-only data (notes, preferences) will be lost unless backed up.
